ABOUT US
The Pediatric Dermatology Student-Run Collaborative aims to provide dermatologic care to underinsured pediatric patients in the Greater Boston area. The Collaborative's goals are threefold:

-
Train medical students to diagnose and manage common and important skin conditions.
-
Teach medical students how to deliver dermatologic care to a diverse, underserved pediatric patient population.
-
Increase delivery of high-quality dermatologic care and patient education for underinsured pediatric patients.

The Collaborative seeks to increase specialist health care access for pediatric patients while equipping future physicians with the leadership skills to organize health care delivery for diverse, underserved patients.

Patients up to age 18 who are publicly insured are eligible for clinic services. The clinic operates once a month on Tuesday evenings from 4:30-7:00 PM in the Fegan Building of Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH).

The Pediatric Dermatology Student-Run Collaborative is the first student-run clinic at Harvard Medical School to provide specialist care to underserved communities. The clinic launched in July 2020 by providing teledermatology services, and is now providing in-person visits to about 9 patients every month. The Collaborative also provides dermatologic teaching to families of the Greater Boston Area.

The Collaborative is grateful for financial support from the Boston Children's Hospital Division of Immunology and the Massachusetts Medical Society and Alliance Charitable Foundation.
